Fredericksburg, VA : King George motorcyclist killed in crash on Monday, December, 11th 2017
A King George County man was killed Monday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car.
State police spokeswoman Sgt. Keeli Hill said the crash took place at 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Owens Drive (State Route 614) and Village Lane in King George. Jerry Arrington, 42, died at the scene.
Hill said the preliminary investigation showed that Arrington was traveling at a high rate of speed on a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle and crossed a double yellow line while maneuvering around traffic. As Arrington entered the intersection, he crashed into a 2013 Toyota sedan that was trying to turn off Owens Drive onto Village Lane and was thrown from his motorcycle, Hill said.
The driver of the Toyota, a King George woman, was not injured.
The state police accident reconstruction team is investigating the incident. No charges had been filed as of Tuesday.
