Tallulah, LA : 67-year-old Anthony Scardino Jr. dead after SUV runs off road, hits tree in Madison Parish on Monday, March 9, 2015

State police are investigating a fatal crash in Madison Parish.

The accident happened Monday around 7:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80 about five miles east of Tallulah.

Senior Trooper Michael Reichardt said in a news release that an SUV driven by 67-year-old Anthony Scardino Jr. was westbound when he lost control, the SUV left the roadway and struck a tree.

Reichardt says Scardino was pronounced dead on scene by the Madison Parish Coroner's Office.
