BOONSBORO, MD : A Pennsylvania man died in a motorcycle crash near Boonsboroon April, Saturday 15th 2017
A Pennsylvania man died Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed near Boonsboro, Maryland State Police said.
Alt. U.S. 40 was closed for about two hours Saturday afternoon because of the wreck.
The crash happened at 12:18 p.m. on Alt. U.S. 40 near Clevelandtown Road, according to a news release police issued Saturday evening.
Thomas Pudlinski, 60, of Boyertown, Pa., was riding a 2013 Victory Vision west as part of a group of motorcyclists, according to the release.
"Pudlinski failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail," the release states.
Pudlinski was thrown from the motorcycle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
He was wearing a helmet, police said.
Crews from Boonsboro Fire and Rescue, the Boonsboro Police Department and the Washington County Fire Police responded to the call for help, according to the release.
The road was closed from about 12:18 to 2:25 p.m.
