Lebanon, TN : Driver killed after crashing into utility pole in Lebanon on Friday morning, May 13, 2016
A 25-year-old man was killed in a crash in Lebanon overnight.
The driver hit a telephone pole head-on at the corner of Tater Peeler Road and Stumpy Lane.
Cole Hovey was driving a 1988 Mazda JM2 went he went off the side of the road and hit the pole, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
Hovey, of Alexandria, reportedly had alcohol in his system and was not wearing a seat belt.
The pole fell, knocking out power for a period of time, but electricity has since been restored.
According to THP, there was a second crash in the area, but that driver fled the scene. The driver was later found and taken to the hospital. It is not clear where and how this driver was found.
The two drivers are believed to have known each other.
The investigation into both crashes is ongoing.
