Billings, MT : A single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 312 on Saturday, October, 28th 2017
A single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 312 east of Shepherd Road Saturday afternoon left one man dead and another seriously injured.
Emergency responders were called to the scene at 2:22 p.m. The wreck involved a custom-made vehicle, said Trooper Tim Kucerovy of the Montana Highway Patrol.
Names and addresses of the two people in the crash had not yet been verified, he said.
The driver and passenger were eastbound on the highway when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle rolled multiple times and landed on its roof in a field south of the road.
Neither the passenger nor the driver appeared to be wearing a seat belt, Kucerovy said. Both were thrown from the vehicle.
One man died at the scene of the crash and the other was taking to by a HELP Flight helicopter to a Billings hospital.
Both speed and alcohol are suspected in the crash that remains under investigation, Kucerovy said. The MHP, Shepherd Volunteer Fire Department and Yellowstone County sheriff's deputies responded to the crash.
