Girl dies in I-20 crash in Douglasville Georgia

Police are investigating an accident that claimed the life of a young girl on Interstate 20 in Douglas County on Sunday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson with the Douglasville Police Department, two cars got into an accident in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 just west of Fairburn Road.Police say the driver of a vehicle from Alabama, identified as 50-year-old Candace Garrison, was ejected from the vehicle. She and her husband, 49-year-old Kevin Garrison, were taken by air ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta. A third passenger, a young girl, died at the scene. She was the granddaughter of the Garrisons, who had legal guardianship of her, according to police.Three passengers in the second vehicle were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and are expected to live.
The accident is still under investigation.
