BARR TOWNSHIP, PA : A Cambria County man was killed on Monday, June 5, 2017

A Cambria County man was killed Monday evening when a motorcycle wrecked on Route 271 near Nicktown.
Troopers at Ebensburg reported a northbound motorcycle driven by a 32-year-old man from Northern Cambria Borough slid out of control at 8:11 p.m. on a curve on what is known locally as Nicktown Hill Road and struck a stone retaining wall.
Cambria County Deputy Coroner Brian Moriconi pronounced the victim dead at the scene about one-half hour later, according to police.
Troopers reported speed was a factor in the wreck, and that the crash remains under investigation.
The Cambria County coroner’s office withheld the victim’s name pending notification of relatives.
