Saint Augustine, FL : Teen dies in St. Johns County wreck on April, Wednesday 12th 2017

A St. Johns County teen died after a wreck Wednesday night on Longleaf Pine Parkway south of Greenbriar Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Michael Jarek Sonognini, 17, was driving a 2001 Lexus IS300 north on Longleaf Pine Parkway near Bartram Trail High School around 8:30 p.m. when he lost control of the car, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Lexus went into the median and then onto southbound lanes before flipping.

“Sonognini was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle,” according to the report.

Authorities don’t know why he lost control, or whether the wreck was alcohol related.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the wreck.
