Utica, N.Y : Taberg man injured following a one-vehicle crash in the town of Annsville Monday, March 20, 2017

A Taberg man was airlifted to a hospital following a one-vehicle crash Monday.

About 12:54 p.m., members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office responded to Meadows Road in the town of Annsville for a motor vehicle accident, according to a news release. An investigation found that 43-year-old Brian Defraine was traveling south on Meadows Road in his 2010 Chevrolet truck when he swerved to avoid an animal on the road.

Defraine lost control of his vehicle, which left the road and hit a tree. He complained of chest pain at the scene and was transported to Upstate Medical Center via Mercy Flight.

New York State Police, Taberg Volunteer Fire Department and Amcare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
