South Jersey man dies in one-car crash

Police in Atlantic County say a man has died in a one-car accident.

The accident happened Sunday night in Galloway Township. Galloway police say 28-year-old Shane Gerson of Mullica Township was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile when he lost control and struck a large tree. Gerson was pronounced dead at the scene.

It isn’t clear what caused the car to lose control. Police say Gerson was wearing a seatbelt.

An investigation is continuing.
