Odessa, TX : Two men arrested by DPS following crash in Odessa on Thursday, February 16th 2017

Two suspects have been arrested on drug-related charges Thursday by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers following a crash that occurred at University Boulevard and East Loop 338.
DPS Troopers were working traffic enforcement at about 4:15 p.m. at FM 1788 and Interstate 20 where there was a construction zone in Midland County. A trooper was about to pull over the driver of a vehicle when the suspects sped off in the car they were traveling in, believing they were being targeted, DPS Sgt. Oscar Villarreal said.
The suspects reportedly fled recklessly in a fourdoor sedan, going across the center median of I-20 before crashing into a vehicle at the intersection in Odessa. The two young men whose names were not confirmed bolted from their damaged vehicle but were caught, Villarreal said.
Both suspects were arrested on charges of evading and drug possession, the sergeant said.
