JENNER, CA : Car plunges off Sonoma County cliff, no crash victims found on Tuesday, November 22, 2016
A car fell from Highway 1 off a cliff in Sonoma County to land on the beach below, but firefighters have not yet located any victims of the crash.
That first responders on Monday found a badly damaged Subaru on a beach north of Jenner below Highway 1, but the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department searchers did not find anyone inside.
The search is expected to continue Tuesday morning.
Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman says he's seen instances of people pushing cars off cliffs before, but tire tracks leading off the cliff make that seem unlikely. He says he is hopeful no victims are found.
