Denver, CO :U.S. Highway 6 in foothills west of Denver re-opened after crash on Sunday, July 5th 2015

A head-on crash in the foothills southwest of Denver Sunday afternoon closed U.S. Highway 6 in both directions for about an hour.Five people hurt in the crash were taken to the hospital, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Tim Sutherland said.The two sport utility vehicles collided around 1:44 p.m. forcing the closure between Golden and Highway 119, Sutherland said. Road crews re-opened the highway around 3:30 p.m. after wreckage was cleared and investigators looked at the scene.The cause was not immediately clear, he said.
