White Pigeon, MI : 25-year old man injured after Pickup truck hits curb, loses wheel, crashes into restaurant and rolls on Sunday, February 7, 2016
A 25-year old man from Goshen, Ind. was injured Sunday when he lost control of his pickup truck, struck a curb, the truck lost a wheel and went crashing into Jaywalker Restaurant, 10188 U.S.-12.
At 10:13 p.m. Feb. 7 the 2005 Dodge Ram was traveling westbound on US-12 when the driver hit the curb near M-103 and lost a wheel, according to a news release from Michigan State Police.
The truck struck the Jaywalker building itself, then rolled over, striking several trees before coming to a stop in the parking lot on the west side of Jaywalker.
A vehicle parked in the parking lot of the restaurant was also struck.
The driver was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment, and is listed in good condition.
The driver was believed to be wearing his seat belt; alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, authorities said.
Assisting at the scene was the White Pigeon Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance, and the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department.
