Hardin County, TX : Dayton man killed, driver, four kids injured in a three vehicle wreck on Highway 105, west of Sour Lake on Friday morning, July 29, 2016

Authorities have identified a man killed in a multi-vehicle crash west of Sour Lake Friday morning as 46-year-old Stacy James Howard.

The crash happened at around 6:45 a.m. when Howard's vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane of Texas 105, as he waited to make a left turn, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

The Isuzu SUV, driven by Howard, was struck from behind, pushing the vehicle across the center diving line. An oncoming Chevrolet SUV hit Howard's car.

Howard, of Dayton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Kent Walker.
The driver of the Chevrolet SUV was flown by helicopter to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Four minor children riding in the Chevrolet SUV were transported by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Davis said in a released statement.

The driver of the passenger vehicle that hit the Isuzu SUV from behind sustained minor injuries in the crash, Davis said.

All lanes of Texas 105 were reopened at around 3 p.m. Friday.
