Lake Havasu City, AZ : Two drivers injured in accident on State Route 95 on Saturday evening, April 2, 2016

Two drivers were injured Saturday evening in a collision on State Route 95, near mile marker 192.

The highway was closed for nearly two hours as emergency workers rendered assistance and cleared the wreckage from the road.

Desert Hills firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 9:09 p.m., where a northbound jeep collided with the rear of a southbound freight truck. The jeep dislodged several of the truck’s rear wheels and ruptured the fuel tank, according to Desert Hills firefighter Mikel Borg.

Borg said the jeep caught fire, but bystanders pulled the driver to safety prior to firefighters’ arrival. One patient from the jeep, and another from the truck were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment.
