OAKLAND, CA : An Oakland man died after crashing into a pole in East Oakland on Sunday, 24th June 2018
An Oakland man died after crashing into a pole in East Oakland Sunday morning, fire officials said.
Paramedics and fire crews responded at 9:52 a.m. to reports of the crash in the 8300 block of Oakport Street, near the Toyota dealership, said Oakland Fire Department Battalion Chief Tracey Chin.
An Oakland police officer, who was the first to arrive, performed CPR in an attempt to save the man’s life, Chin said. But he had gone into traumatic arrest, his body seizing from the shock of the collision, and died before she could save him.
The coroner’s bureau identified him as Wesley Randolph III. He was 64 years old.
