Carbondale, IL : Nashville man ticketed after A crash on Interstate 57 early Monday morning, June 27, 2016

Illinois State Police District 13 troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:02 a.m. Monday.

ISP said Shane M. Blumhorst, 43, of Nashville, Illinois was traveling southbound on Interstate 57 in his 2005 International semi when his vehicle began drifting toward the right side of the roadway, and he was unable to gain control. The trailer struck the bridge support and went off the right side of the road at milepost 73. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch, but remained upright.

Debris from Blumhorst’s vehicle caught fire caused by impact with the bridge support, but the vehicle did not catch fire.

Blumhorst was ticketed for improper lane usage.
