Sacramento, CA : Driver suffers heart attack on Herndon, later dies after crash on Saturday , December 10th, 2016

Westbound Herndon Avenue near Highway 41 was closed to traffic early Saturday after a driver suffered a heart attack and crashed into a power pole and another car.

Lt. Mark Hudson said the victim died at Community Regional Medical Center following the crash. A woman who was the wife of the victim suffered a broken leg in the crash.

Traffic was backed up on northbound Highway 41 as it was diverted east on Herndon.

Hudson said the crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. The California Highway Patrol said the man was driving a black Dodge Charger when he crashed.
