Lawrenceburg, IN : Matthew Schemer, 35, killed in crash in Dearborn County early Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017

A Lawrenceburg man was killed when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole overnight in Dearborn County, officials said.

Matthew Schemer, 35, was driving in the 2700 block of Harrison-Brookville Road at the time of the crash, according to the Dearborn County Sheriff's Department.

Schemer was taken to an area hospital early Wednesday morning where he later died.

The sheriff's office is investigating the crash. Officials have not said what factors led to the crash.
