CHARLOTTE, NC : CMPD patrol vehicle involved in crash with bicyclist on Tuesday March 21st 2017

A police SUV was involved in a crash with a bicyclist in north Charlotte Tuesday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say.
It happened around 7 a.m. on Sunset Road at Kiev Road. Police say the cyclist was wearing all dark clothing, no headlamp and was traveling against traffic when he was struck.
According to police, the officer noticed damage to the mirror on the right side of the SUV and turned around. There he found a 23-year-old man on a bicycle who had minor injuries.
Medic took the bicyclist to Novant Presbyterian for a possible arm or shoulder injury. He is expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
