Charlotte, NC : Five people were injured in a tanker truck crash on Interstate 85 wednesday 12.40p.m June 4th 2014.

Five people were injured in a crash involving a tanker truck that created headaches for travelers on Interstate 85 northbound.

The crash, which happened around 12:40 p.m., forced emergency crews to close the interstate heading north at exit 45/Harris Boulevard.

All lanes were reopened just before 4:30 p.m.

Several vehicles were involved in the crash.

Medic crews transported three people with life threatening injuries and two others with potentially life threatening injuries to Carolinas Medical Center.

Fire and hazardous materials crews were on scene working to control fuel leakage from the tanker and clear the roadway.
