COOKE COUNTY, TX : 1 killed, 2 hurt in 2-vehicle crash in Texas involving driver from Northwest Louisiana on Monday, 19th February 2024

A Northwest Louisiana man was involved in a crash in Texas that claimed a woman’s life and injured two people, including himself.

It occurred at 3:49 a.m. Monday (Feb. 18) on Interstate 35 in the Cooke County city of Valley View, the Texas Department of Public Safety reports.

Preliminary investigation shows a 2017 Toyota Camry was disabled in the right-hand lane of southbound I-35 after having been involved in a single-vehicle crash, according to a report by Trooper P. Richardson. The Camry’s driver and passenger were standing near the car when a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe struck them and the Camry.

Killed was the Camry’s passenger, 22-year-old Crystal Mendoza, of Dallas. She was pronounced dead at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
