Mooresville ,NC :Motorcyclist went against flow of traffic in fatal Mooresville crash on Tuesday ,july 21st 2015

A man was killed Tuesday in a wreck in Iredell County involving a motorcycle and a truck, according to officials.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on Morrison Plantation Parkway in Mooresville. The Morresville Police Department says Joshua Collins, 24, was killed in the accident.

WBTV was at the scene where emergency crews had an area just off the roadway roped off. The motorcycle could be seen on the back of a tow truck.

After an investigation into the crash, Mooresville police say Collins was traveling south on Morrison Plantation Parkway and then switched lanes to drive in the northbound lane, against the flow of traffic. Witnesses say drivers tried to avoid Collins, but collided with a pickup truck.

Officials don't know why he changed lanes and started driving against the flow of traffic.
