Bridgeville ,DE :Infant dies after she was thrown from car seat, car during crash on Friday ,September 11th 2015

Delaware State Police say a 3-month-old girl died after she was thrown from her car seat and the car when it crashed into a ditch.

The crash occurred on Oak Road near Bridgeville on Friday. Police say 22-year-old Liliana Ramos-Ramirez drove off the road and into a ditch, where it hit a pole and overturned.

Police say her daughter, Britney Velasquez-Ramos, was thrown into the grass nearby. She was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police say she wasn't properly restrained and the seat wasn't properly secured.

Police say her 1-year-old sister's seat wasn't properly secured, but she stayed in the car. Details of her injuries weren't available.

Ramos-Ramirez was treated and released. She's charged with operation of a vehicle causing death to another person, inattentive driving and other offenses.
