SUMTER COUNTY, SC : Coroner identifies victim in Sumter County hit-and-run on Sunday, June 18, 2017

The Sumter County Coroner has identified the victim of a deadly hit-and-run that happened early Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as 56-year-old Dwain Wright of Rembert. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say at 12:35 a.m. Wright was hit and killed by a car on Ellerbe Mill Road. The car fled the scene after the crash.

Troopers do not have a description of the car involved but anyone who may have any information about the crash is urged to contact Highway Patrol by dialing *HP.
