Sterling Heights, MI : Pedestrian dead after being struck by a vehicle at 14 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights on Friday, December 19, 2014

A 62-year-old pedestrian died Friday evening after she was struck by a car in Sterling Heights, police said. The woman was crossing Van Dyke north of 14 Mile about 6:22 p.m. when she was hit, according to the Sterling Heights Police Department. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car stopped after the incident, police said. Police did not release additional information Friday night. An investigation is ongoing.
