New Haven, CT : One dead following head-on collision in Clinton on May, Thursday 4th 2017

The Clinton Police are reporting one person has died and another is suffering life-threatening injuries following a head-on collision in Clinton on Thursday.

Around 3:43 p.m. the Clinton Police, Clinton Fire and EMS responded to a two-car collision near the intersection of Route 81 and Rocky Ledge Drive. Both operators were the lone occupants in the vehicles and were both extricated by the fire department.

Both were transported to area hospitals where one of the operators was pronounced dead.

No other information will be provided at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

Route 81 was closed for an extended period of time in order for police to conduct an on scene investigation, but the road has since re-opened.
