Boise, ID: I-84 crash backed traffic up for miles on Monday, August 3rd 2015

Traffic was backed up for miles for a while on Monday on Interstate 84 by an injury crash that happened just before noon east of Boise.The crash - near the Boise Stage Stop between Mayfield and Simco Road - is being investigated by Idaho State Police.ISP said Christina Ortiz, 31, of Fairview, Okla., was westbound on I-84 in a 2006 Dodge Caravan minivan when she drove off of the left shoulder of the road.Police said Ortiz over-corrected, came back across the interstate, struck a cement barrier, and the vehicle came to rest in the middle of the travel lanes.Passengers Wayne Goodsell, 67, also of Fairview, and a juvenile were transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.Ortiz and four other juvenile passengers were uninjured.Police said all of the vehicle's were wearing seat belts.All westbound lanes of the interstate at milepost 71 were blocked for about 45 minutes, then one lane was reopened. As of around 1:50 p.m., police said all westbound lanes were back open.
