Jefferson County, KY : One person killed in crash on the Gene Snyder Freeway in eastern Jefferson County on Thursday, 21st November, 2019

One person was killed after a crash early Thursday on the Gene Snyder Freeway in eastern Jefferson County, according to Louisville police.

Andre Reyna Jr., 26, died at 1:24 a.m. due to multAiple blunt force injuries, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to the reported crash on Interstate 265 at mile marker 27, which is near the Shelbyville Road exit, according to Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell.

A preliminary investigation found Reyna Jr. was driving a Lincoln MKZ heading north on I-265 when he lost control of the vehicle "for some unknown reason" and hit the left cable barrier, Mitchell said.

The vehicle then crossed back over into lanes of traffic and struck the concrete retaining wall in the right lane, Mitchell said.
