Banks County, GA : 2 killed in Banks County wreck at Georgia Highway 59 and Highway 164 near Commerce on Monday, 18th February 2019

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon at an intersection in Banks County, according to Banks County Fire and Emergency Services.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. at Georgia Highway 59 and Highway 164 near Commerce.

The Georgia State Patrol identified the deceased as Lequesha Smith, 27, of Commerce, who was killed at the scene. The driver, Sametrice Antwon Johnson, 27, died later at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, according to the reports.

Smith and Johnson each had to be extricated from the vehicle, according to the news release.
