Miami, FL : 3 passengers killed, drivers injured in 2-car crash at Northwest 17th Avenue and 119th Street on Sunday, May 8, 2016

Three people were killed late Sunday in a two-car crash in Miami.

Both drivers were injured but survived the crash. Three passengers died, according to Miami police.

The crash, involving a Chevrolet Impala and a Toyota Corolla, happened around 9:30 p.m at Northwest 17th Avenue and 119th Street when one car turned in front of the other.

The driver of the Corolla was traveling south on 17th and attempted to make a left turn when it was struck by the Impala, traveling west on 17th at 119th Street.

The three passengers died immediately, police said. They were not immediately identified.

The injured drivers were identified by police as Shakeena Hasty, 32, and Paul Manreza, 55.

Police detectives say speed may have contributed to the crash.
