Beaumont, TX : Elderly driver crashes through front of Salon West on Wednesday, August 9, 2017

a car hit a building at 7102 Phelan, injuring one person.

The 81-year-old driver was parking at the Salon West beauty salon when her foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator, forcing the car through the front wall of the building. The driver was not injured. A 63-year-old customer sitting in the waiting area was struck by the vehicle, suffering injuries to her right leg. She was treated on the scene by Beaumont EMS and transported to the hospital. The building sustained substantial damage to the front wall and door. The business is able to maintain operation using the back door.
