Annapolis, MD : Rights group executive dies in scooter crash on Saturday, August 26, 2017
Cassidy Karakorn, 39, an executive with the Human Rights Campaign, was killed late Saturday in a traffic collision while operating a motor scooter in Northeast.
Police said her scooter collided with a vehicle making a U-turn in the 1100 block of Florida Avenue NE about 11:15 p.m.
Karakorn had been with the Human Rights Campaign, a civil rights organization, since 2001, according to her LinkedIn page, and was listed as its director of consumer marketing.
The Refinery29 website described her as a “ familiar face in D.C.’s most creative circles” and said she had also worked as a DJ. Washington Life magazine listed her in its “guide to Washington’s most influential 40-and-under leaders.”
