PHOENIX, AZ : Good Samaritan killed in multi-car crash on Loop 202 Red Mountain in Phoenix on Sunday, 24th September 2023

A deadly crash shut down a portion of the Loop 202 Red Mountain in Phoenix for several hours Sunday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., Department of Public Safety troopers say a driver, who was involved in a hit-and-run on I-17 earlier in the morning, crashed on the Loop 202 near 32nd Street. Two bystanders then stopped to help those in need. However, as they were trying to help, one good Samaritan was struck by a car. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. In total, four vehicles were involved in the Loop 202 collision.
