Deadly crash shutdown the northbound lanes of Highway 85

A deadly crash has shut down the northbound lanes of Highway 85, causing a major traffic backup at the height of rush-hour Monday.

Officials say a jeep and another vehicle collided around 3:30 p.m. on 85 near De Anza Boulevard.
Both vehicles overturned and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

While only northbound lanes are closed at this time, traffic is moving very slowly in the southbound lanes.

At this time the cause of the crash is under investigation.
