Exeter, NH : Bicyclist killed in collision with garbage truck in Exeter on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015

New Hampshire state police said a bicyclist was killed in a collision with a truck in Exeter.

Lt. Jerry Maslan said the accident occurred about 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday on Epping Road in Exeter.

The bicyclist was identified as Margaret Rugg, 64, of Exeter.

Police said Rugg was riding through a construction zone when she lost her balance and fell into the path of a container truck. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The truck, owned by Pinard Waste Management Systems, was operated by a Milton man.

Route 27 was closed while police investigated. It reopened around 7:30 p.m.

State police and Exeter police are investigating the crash. They do not believe drugs or alcohol are factors.
