Los angeles ,CA : One woman killed and Four others injured after Car plunged down an embankment near Pyramid Lake on Sunday ,June 7th 2015

A woman was killed, a man critically injured and three boys also injured Sunday after a car on Interstate 5 plunged down an embankment near Pyramid Lake, just south of Vista Del Lago Road, emergency response officials said.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a white sedan southbound on I-5 plunged about 100 feet down an embankment near Vista Del Lago Road, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Robert Diaz.

“We had one fatal and four critically injured people taken to various hospitals,” he said.

Three boys, believed to be brothers from Santa Barbara, were aged 4, 7 and 15 years old, according to Jeff Zimmerman a retired firefighter who witnessed and photographed the rescue efforts.

Early reports received by California Highway Patrol officers indicated that the vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest.
