SCITUATE, MA : Hundreds mourn Scituate teen killed in motorcycle crash on Monday, 16th July 2018

Hundreds of grief-stricken friends and family members remembered a popular, thrill-seeking 14-year-old Monday night, recalling his fun and happy way of life, and mourning him as “a lion” and as an “eagle.”

The large group gathered for a candlelight vigil on Matteson Road, at the spot where police say Jared Carpenter was killed while riding his dirt bike.

The vigil, assembled by members of the Scituate Town Council, drew large numbers of teenagers and parents.
