Atlanta, GA : Deadly tractor-trailer crash on I-20 between I-285 and Fulton Industrial Boulevard on Wednesday, 16th January 2019

Hours after a deadly tractor-trailer crash, lanes have reopened on I-20 between I-285 and Fulton Industrial Boulevard, Channel 2 Action News reported.

It took crews 10 hours to clean up before reopening lanes, according to the news station.

The fatal wreck shut down eastbound I-20 and all but one westbound lane Thursday night, authorities said.

One person was killed and others were injured after the tractor-trailer wrecked and caught fire, Atlanta fire Sgt. Cortez Stafford told AJC.com.

Georgia State Patrol said the 7:30 p.m. crash began when a tractor-trailer traveling east overturned onto its passenger side and crashed into a concrete barrier between the east and westbound lanes.

Debris from the concrete barrier went into the westbound lanes, striking two vehicles, the GSP said. One of the drivers of those vehicle died. The name of the person killed hasn’t been released because the family hasn’t been notified.
