Macon, GA : Two people died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 16 near the Bibb and Twiggs county line on Saturday night, January 2, 2016
Authorities say two motorists have been killed in a wreck on Interstate 16, just southeast of Macon.
The Georgia State Patrol says the one-car crash happened Saturday night on I-16 near the Bibb-Twiggs county line.
Trooper Chad Harrison says the car was heading west when it left the interstate and struck a tree.
The victims were identified as 34-year-old Brandy Pratt; and 39-year-old Jamie Smith, both of Pooler. The Telegraph reports that Pratt and Smith were passengers in the car that crashed.
Harrison said the driver, 38-year-old Shannon Gunn of Macon, was taken to a hospital with severe injuries.
