MILTON, FL : Pedestrian killed in Santa Rosa County accident on Saturday, 21st December, 2019

A 35-year-old Cantonment man was killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 90, authorities say.

The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives, was walking in the westbound lane of U.S. 90 near Whitsett Lane when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota 4Runner being driven by a Fort Walton Beach man.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a press release.

The trooper noted that it was dark and rainy at the time.

Four people in the 4Runner were not injured, and no charges are pending.
