Brockton, PA : Driver briefly trapped after rollover crash in Brockton on Sunday morning, February 26, 2017
Police are investigating the cause of a rollover crash that trapped a woman in her car and caused a road closure Sunday morning.
The driver of a gray, four-door SUV sustained injuries and had to be extricated from her overturned car after she crashed near Pleasant Street and Pennsylvania Avenue at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Brockton police and firefighters responded to the single-vehicle crash. Airbags were deployed inside the SUV, which ended up on the sidewalk by Walgreens near Pleasant Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, police said.
The driver of the SUV, a middle-aged woman, was conscious and alert following the crash, Deputy Fire Chief Mark Baker said.
She was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center "as a pre-caution," Baker said.
A section of Pleasant Street was temporarily shut down following the crash, as firefighters worked to extricate the driver and clear the car off the road.
There is no information available at this time on the cause of the accident, which remains under investigation.
