Kinder, LA : Man walking on U.S. 165 hit, killed near Kinder on Saturday, November 1, 2014

A 22-year-old man died after a car struck him as he walked in a traffic lane of U.S. Highway 165 north of Kinder. State police tell The Town Talk that William Luntsford of Welsh was walking in a traffic lane around 3:05 a.m. Saturday when a vehicle swerved to avoid him. Investigators say the 70-year-old female driver of a second vehicle could not veer away in time and struck Luntsford. Luntsford was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
