A two car wreck at the intersection of Stevenson Mill Road and the 68-80 Bypass left an Auburn man dead and a warrant issued for the arrest of a Tennessee woman Saturday.

According to the Logan County Sheriff's Department, 80-year-old Carl Hodges of Auburn was traveling on the 68-80 Bypass when he was struck by Margie Johnson, 47, of Springfield, Tenn., who failed to yield at the stop sign on Stevenson Mill Road.

The impact from the collision caused Hodges's vehicle to strike a guardrail, thus resulting in him being ejected from his vehicle, which overturned in the roadway.

Hodges was transported to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

Johnson was transported to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. for injuries sustained in the crash.

An arrest warrant was issued for Johnson for operating a motor vehicle under the influence (aggravating circumstances) murder, as well as other criminal charges.

The accident is being investigated by Sgt. Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff's Department. He was assisted by deputies Parker Rowland, Kory McDonald, Billy Poole, and Jason Brent also of the Logan County Sheriff's Department, as well as the Russellville Police Department, the Russellville Fire Department, Logan County EMS and Air Evac.
