Austin, TX : Woman died, 2 children injures on Sunday morning Texas crash in northwest Austin on July 27, 2014

Police say a morning crash in northwest Austin has killed one woman and injured two children.

The Austin American Statesman reports that a man, a woman and two children were in a Dodge Neon around 7:15 a.m. Sunday when they collided with a Chevrolet truck. The truck was driven by an unaccompanied man.

Arriving emergency personnel found an off-duty nurse attempting CPR on the woman, identified only as in her 40s. She was eventually pronounced dead.

Both children had potentially critical injuries. The elder of the two, a 12-year-old girl, was taken to the hospital with a head injury.

A younger boy was also hospitalized.

The two men in the accident refused treatment at the scene. Traffic detectives were investigating, but no charges were immediately filed.
