Raleigh, NC : A woman suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Monday, August 14, 2017
A woman suffered serious injuries Monday in a single-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Fort Dobbs Road, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
The woman, whose name was not released, was transported by Iredell EMS to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem around 6:15 p.m., said Trooper M.M. Powell. The extent of her injuries was unclear Monday night.
Responders arrived at the scene, near Fort Dobbs Historic Site, and found the woman, estimated to be in her 50s, trapped in a Chevrolet Uplander.
Powell said the woman appeared to be traveling west when the vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a culvert.
No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
A portion of the road was shut down for about an hour.
Ebenezer Fire Department, North Carolina Highway Patrol, Iredell EMS and Iredell Rescue responded.
