Live Oak, CA : CHP officer, 2 others injured in Hwy. 99 crash in Sutter County on Wednesday, June 22, 2016

A California Highway Patrol officer and two others were injured in a crash Wednesday in Sutter County, CHP said.

The officer and the two occupants of another vehicle were taken to the hospital to get treatment of minor to moderate injuries.

The crash happened on Highway 99 just south of Live Oak, near Paseo Drive. The CHP officer was driving in a patrol car with its lights on when it was hit by another vehicle, CHP said. It is unknown if the siren was turned on.

CHP said the vehicle went off the road and caught fire, which was quickly extinguished.

Hwy. 99 was closed in both directions just south of Live Oak as CHP investigated the crash.

No other details about the crash were available.
