Authorities say they think speed and alcohol contributed to a single-vehicle crash late Sunday night in Boyle County that killed a teenager and injured four other people.
Emily Snow, 16, of Danville died at the scene, Boyle County Coroner Donald Hamner said.She was a passenger in the car, Hamner said.No other names have been released.Five people were in the vehicle, according to the Boyle County Sheriff's Department.The wreck happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Scrubgrass Road in Boyle County's Mitchellsburg community, deputies said.According to the sheriff's department, a Ford car was traveling west on Scrubgrass Road when it failed to negotiate a right-hand turn, left the road and struck a tree.
Three victims were treated at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A fourth was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with what officers described as life-threatening injuries.
There was no word on that person's condition Monday.
