Terrebonne Parish, LA : One man died in car crash on early Sunday morning July 27th 2014

Leroy Whitley of Houma, 35, died at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday (July 27) in a car crash, state police report.

Police say he was driving a 2000 Crown Victoria on Idlewild Drive in Terrebonne Parish when he veered into the right-side ditch, then overcorrected and crossed both lanes of the street into the left-side ditch. The car overturned and Whitley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology results are pending an autopsy and police say they are continuing to investigate the crash.
